This is an absolute banger of a takedown of Bill Gates' latest memo from an apoplectic @jigarshahdc.bsky.social, who brought a box full of receipts.

It's my fave so far of a lot of excellent reax.

Maeve broke the news of the first list last week, which -- unlike the still mysterious second list -- has been confirmed by DOE to represent at least a portion of the agency's planned award cancellations.

DOH! DOE doesn’t have enough legal expertise left in-house after DOGE cuts to carry out all the funding cancellations the Trump administration has promised, @maeveallsup.bsky.social reports. And they're talking about mass firings for a gov shutdown?

Great article from
@maeveallsup.bsky.social and @latitudemedia.bsky.social on the particulars. But basically you would need the tariffs to cause a 2008 Global Financial Crisis before LPO would pay out on the guarantee. The bonds are still trading normally after the announcement.
