I've been working on an Irish Hiking Scarf for a friend. She got the yarn at a farmers' market in far northern Vermont. It is of unknown origins, but it is probably Jacob or Romney, since it is so stiff and coarse. Dyed with vegetable dyes, one skein down, one to go!

Finished scarf. Noro Silk Garden. This one is for me, I bought the yarn in 2008, started it, and found it in my stash. Now it's done and waiting for winter.

The son of a friend is joining the Coast Guard next month. This is a wool cap he'll be able to wear. Mad Tosh, black superwash merino.

I'm having one of those "Do not cite the old magic to me, Witch. I was there when it was written" moments.

My earworm right now keeps switching between a piece by Mozart and a piece by Bach. I say, "switching," because by humming one of them out loud I can keep the other at bay, but if I'm not humming then both are playing in my head simultaneously, which is very distracting.

Completed scarf for my niece.
Fiber Optic Yarns, colourway Agean Blue.
Superwash Merino wool.
Pattern is Irish Hiking Scarf, a free pattern. I've made this scarf dozens of times, but never for myself. I need to fix that.

I just blocked the account of someone I used to know, who was once a casual friend.
Gay man.
Contra dancer.
Republican.
I can't even.
I can't odd, either.
I just don't want to see the apologetics about the bullshit coming out of Washington.

New hat!
Plymouth Yarn, 55% baby alpaca, 45% merino wool.
This is so amazingly soft, and I'm glad I've got more of this yarn, since I made it for a friend, I can still make one for myself.

Part of my yarn stash. How an ADHD hyperfocus got a little out of control.

Finished the scarf this morning. Now I need to pack it up and ship it off to Illinois. A nice Merino wool scarf just in time for spring!

Gods below! But I hate when this happens at knit-night!

I bought this yarn ca 2008 at the Tent Sale at Webs in Northampton. It was made by an indie dyer, and it's been in my stash for 17 years. I just came across it a couple weeks ago and thought it would make a great scarf. But I have 536 yards, and think a shawl would be better.

Today is my first day back at work after almost two weeks. Last week we were on a cruise visiting Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Upon returning home on Saturday, I began to sneeze, and came down with the flu. Today was my first day back, and reentry was a bitch.

On the needles: Irish Hiking Scarf (free pattern on Ravelry). Bad Sheep Yarn, colourway is Kennicot, superwash merino, worsted weight. This is some of the softest yarn I've ever knit with. Like knitting with clouds.

Finished object. Hat for AH. Periwinkle Sheep, Pumpkin Spice and Set in Stone. I think it came out really well, and I'm very happy with it.

About half way through the decreases on the crown. Coming into the home stretch. I need to decide if the top is going to be brown or blue. I kind of like the idea of finishing it off in brown, sort of like book ends.
