I run a site for collectors and fans of the world's most important (ecch!) humor publication - Mad Magazine! . . . . . . . . . . . . . I don't know why either... MadCoverSite.com
Quite a few people didn't know the cover for MAD Magazine #79, June 1963 is based on the painting Whistler's Mother. I thought this was common knowledge, then I realized I'm old. Mingo did a decent job guessing what Anna Whistler's face looked like beyond the profile.

It's the 25th birthday of Wikipedia, a site I probably visit more consistently than most (except for MadCoverSite.com, of course).

MAD jabbed them back in issue #467, July 2006 with this WonkyPedia article on the Lincoln assassination.

A new MAD Spoofs Movie Classics is out for 2026. Besides a new Mark Fredrickson cover, two of the parodies were swapped. Gone are "Masochist Commander: On the Farce Side of the World" and "Barebutt Mountain," opting for "The Wizard of O" and "Deadwood Scissorsham." madcoversite.com/mad-sce08-ma...

It's the 34th birthday of the HAL 9000 computer, becoming operational in Urbana, Illinois in 1992. Dick DeBartolo named him "SID" in 201 Minutes of a Space Idiocy in MAD Magazine #125 March 1969, with art by Mort Drucker.
