First private (US) rocket sending something to Mars... is not made by SpaceX. Despite constant babble about Mars for a decade.

Very last (for me) images from NOAA-15 weather satellite, received directly from space back in Aug 17th.

Now all of them - NOAA-15, 18 and 19 are defunct. It was a great hobby for many.

Have a proper camera, but first art-sy image I've shared on social media in years - is this one. Made with a smartphone, while drinking some stout.

Wrote a relatively simple Python script, capable of transforming maps/visualizations in equirectangular projection to orthographic one...

... and that led to this.

"Ketvirtoji dimensija" - "Fourth dimension" in lithuanian.

By accident I have learned that asteroid #7000 is Curie and #8000 is Newton. Now my script can highlight specific asteroids & their orbits. Gaussia is for funzz here.

My little Solar system. Python script takes orbital elements of asteroids and planets from JPL Solar system dynamics tables, plots them both in 2D and 3D with user defined time steps. This is from early May. Now it's a little more capable.

Few views with Foldscope - little, (mostly) paper microscope, which actually is not so toy-ish.

More that 1,000 scientific publications mentioned it and/or it was used for research, leading to those publications.

"It Can’t Rain Forever"

Well, it can. It can get even worse. Without ever recovering. It can be terminal. Final.

Just a thought. Not having in mind anything in particular. Although there's plenty of things, happening right now, to remind this.

Eeeeeew, not this again. Followed by innoucous looking lady, having few followers in common. Nothing suspicious.

After that I started being followed by several *attractive ladies NOT from my area*. With first lady following them as well.

Twitter-like BS 🤦‍♂️

Me 2014: gee, how I'm going to extract few 1000s of rows from this 4.5 GB text file. Oh, I'll use this Java tool, but first need to increase heap space to like 75% of available memory.

Me 2024: so I'm going to encode 7.5 TB of frames to video file and slice it for 8 projectors?!

Genius myth will die the last. Many, who praised him in the past, and now are unable to admit (even to themselves) that they were f*cked over - STILL grasping at straws. Like "hey, he must be genius in something".

No, he isn't. Pointing at old issues of Pop. Mech and asking others to build ain't it
Elon Musk just called the COVID-19 pandemic that killed at least 1.4 million Americans a “scamdemic.”

My dad died during the pandemic; we weren't able to visit him in the hospital because of it. Every aspect of that horrible tragedy was real. And exacerbated by Musk’s co-POTUS.

I’m seeing red. 😡

Youtube recommended me to watch this. And I did. I think it's fair. No labels. No interpretations, pulled out of thin air. They themselves are saying openly what they want to do. For years.

Although, what suprised me, that Curtis Yarvin is more influential than I thought.
