I stopped by the Chinden Blvd osprey nest today. One adult flew out of the nest and perched across the street. The other adult flew in and joined them on the perch.

Thought for the day.
Beware: It’s easy to lose yourself while constantly trying to keep everyone else happy.

You know, there's a certain irony to a president who is a convicted felon wanting to send criminals to a prison camp in El Salvador.

Who pays tariffs?
Interesting video in the comments by someone who has a small business and he explains how he pays tariffs and why it is still cheaper for him to have things made in China.

trump cricized Obama for golfing too much, but he was golfing this week, instead of observing the arrival of US troops who died in Lithuania.

Just a reminder.

As proof that trump knows so little about the American economy, he suggested buying American made cars. There is no car made in America that doesn't contain imported parts. That's just how the global economy works. It's all interconnected.

Got a ride up 8th Street extension (aka Sunset Peak Road) and found the owl nest (I think it's a Great Horned Owl, but she kept her back to me) and a Great Blue Heron was in pond below.

Last summer was possibly the worst fire season for Boise. It felt like we had smoke in the air from early June through the end of September. I'm concerned that with cuts to the forest service that this summer will be even worse.

I'm trying to move to Blue Sky, as a replacement for Facebook, but I guess it's really a replacement for Twitter, which I never used. I can't get used to the 300 character limit.

I just found a fun anachronism. At the beginning of the movie Dances With Wolves, Kevin Costner's character walks up to another soldier, behind a fence. Next to that soldier is an apple.

The apple has a grocery store sticker on it.

Someone in the props department needs to be fired.

I think it is clear that trump admires putin. So, maybe trump wants to annex Canada because putin is trying to annex Ukraine (and has already annexed parts of it).

(I actually think the idea of annexing Canada is ludicris and only shows how little trump knows about Canada.)

Governor Brad Little hates public schools, no matter what lies he tells in press confernces.

Good news, he has less than two years left in his term -- vote him OUT in November 2026!!

Some of tonight's photos of a Great Horned Owl (not the one from last week -- this is a different one, but in the same general area).

More owl photots from yesterday.

Owl photos from last night. The last two are taken at very low light, so they aren't great.

I saw a lecture by Babak Tafreshi last week. He is a National Geographic Astronomer, Photographer and advocate for dark skies. I'm lucky to live in Idaho where I can drive an hour or two to find dark skies where I can see stars that you'll never see in the city.

Tahquitz Canyon waterfall, Palm Springs. Fairly easy 2 mile round trip hike, but there are some rock steps that are over a foot high, so you have to do some step-ups. Trekking poles would be handy.
