The eastern Hunting Ground, 882 TE. The mobile university city Musieon has sought shelter from predator townlets behind the ramparts of the Frying Pan, an abandoned ‘city nest’ where a larger Traction City was constructed several centuries before. Antique artillery pieces from its extensive collection have kept the roving predators at bay, but nomad war-bands who still haunt the foothills of the Tannhauser Mountains have posted an observation balloon to keep watch on it, ready to give chase as soon as it tries to leave.

New year, new Traction City.
A pen and ink drawing of the Traction City of Thorbury, after a painting by Giotto Trubshawe. It is pictured shortly before the dramatic events of 882 TE. The fortifications on the Base Tier are a relic of the Wheeled War and mostly used for storage by this period. The small triketown (lower right) has probably approached in the hope of being eaten by this peaceful and prosperous city.
