I don’t understand electric guitar culture.
A 200+ year old violin will go in for repairs and get entirely refit with varnish touchups, new bracing, new fingerboards… but if someone dares restore a 1962 Gibson they’re ruining it?
It makes no sense.

This weekend I spent 3 hours restringing, cleaning, and setting up my guitar (Charvel 6 string)
It would have been an hour or so if it didn’t have a floating bridge :)

I noticed a tiny chip-out of the varnish on my guitar neck fretboard.
It was enough to notice when I turned the neck and the light would be matte on the raw wood and shiny on the varnish itself.
As an experiment I went out and got some supplies; rub-on satin varnish, some sanding supplies, etc.

Went about sanding the gloss down to satin on my Bass VI. Sorry Squire/Fender but gloss finish isn’t for guitar necks.

I need to get a battery holder to actually test it but even as a novelty this is super cool. I’d love it I could actually get some beautiful 70s crunge photos.

I want something a little… more.

Psyche Rock where the guitar plays rhythm and the bass plays the “lead” with a huge growling fuzzy bass tone is something I’ve heard a couple times from various artists but I’ve grown to love more and more.

I got me a Chrimbo present.
I played probably 20+ basses and this one is the one I settled on. I went in wanting a J bass with anything other than a sunburst finish... but this one spoke to me the most. The sunburst has a beautiful gold flake glitter, the neck feels great, and is not too wide for me

People around me often, when overwhelmed or stressed with things, will divert themselves to being more kinky and sexual. A good escape probably. For me I lock myself out of that kinda enjoyment mentally. Who knows which cope is better.

Their guitars are either too heavy or are ugly as sin (looking @ u SG!)
I tried playing a few LPs at the music store and just couldn’t get comfortable with the weight, my dinky Charvel has spoiled me.

I have been told by synth people that human hearing is exponential so if you use the exponential mode on the VCA it will sound more natural.
But... to me it sounds like it goes from 0 volume to 100 instantly and it's not a natural gradient.

All the bigger ones only sell music from artists under labels, and labels take 90% of the cut, the artist makes $1-2 from a record sale.

I went through all the little song ideas I sent to my boyfriend the last year, and there’s 4 that I think I could turn into full songs.
Technically 3 but I think pulling the drums out of one and keeping the original as ambient, but using the drums in another track would work.

Go from full time to part time employment, cuz i feel like having some routine is important for me (as an individual) and focus on trying to get back into the groove of finishing creative works.

I, someone who has... only bsky for social media (I had Twitter but abandoned it for this,) get huge culture shock when I see some stuff that come out of other platforms, like the toxic trend culture of Tik Tok and Instagram.

Since starting vyvanse, when I am at work feeling super motivated to work on music stuff, when I get home… I actually do it 😱
Now I still often get home, eat, and spend some time doing my regularly scheduled watching more videos than I should but I actually get 2-4 hours in instead of 0.
