The update is up on the feed already and we're finally back with Isi and Rory ❤️❤️ I won't be posting on Thursday so if you've got some catching up to do, now's the time 😉 (and i'll see you all on Vday)
February 10, 2026 at 8:27 PM
Isi threw her arms around her neck again, this time maybe more for herself than for Rory.
“Don’t worry, I know we’re not there yet!”
The squeeze that accompanied the sentence made it clear Isi meant it.

And something within Rory knotted. Because, before a ring, there would need to be honesty.
February 10, 2026 at 3:00 PM
Isi chuckled, before teasing: “No comments on the contents of the dream?”
Rory bumped her nose with her girlfriend’s, leaning into the playfulness of her tone.
“What? You think I don’t know you’d call call Lou and Ade instead?”
They both felt the tug within their chests. And laughed it off.
February 10, 2026 at 2:50 PM
Minutes later, Rory had finally managed to relax a little. They parted and Isi glanced in the direction Celene had gone.
“The other day, I dreamt I’d found a ring in your bag and called 𝘩𝘦𝘳 to talk about it?”
Rory let herself huff a disbelieving sound. “Glad that wasn’t one of our shared dreams.”
February 10, 2026 at 2:40 PM
Celene seemed to catch on and dashed away.
Isi’s voice lowered to a murmur. A habit, even though the human wouldn’t be able to overhear them. “You okay?”
“I’m fine.” Rory paused, then added: “Could do with a hug.”
Isi didn’t hesitate to wrap around her, even with the tension still inhabiting her.
February 10, 2026 at 2:30 PM
Rory kept her eyes on Isidora as the words made their way to them.
She nodded: “As long as you’ve learned from this.”
“I have. And found someone who will keep my paranoia in check, too.”
“A therapist?”
“Not exactly, but I’m looking for one of those.”
“Good. We’ll see you later then?”
February 10, 2026 at 2:20 PM
“Thanks Cel, you don’t look so bad yourself. Better than Lou, at least.” Isi answered, tone full of empathy, making it impossible to escalate back up to anger.
Then, and only then, Celene’s shoulders slumped a little. She breathed out: “I’m sorry, I put you all through a lot.”
February 10, 2026 at 2:10 PM
Rory’s heart tugged to the left.
Isi was here.
“Alright, I think we’ve said enough for today. Let’s take a step back.”
Rory knew the words were meant for her, but she couldn’t move. She did let go of Celene’s arm as the blond obeyed Isi’s demand, looking up at her.
“Hey Iz’. You’re glowing!”
February 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM
“At least Kristopher knew how toxic you wolves can be and kept a leash on his!”
Rory grabbed Cel’s wrist as it flew, her accusation ringing inside the alpha’s head.
“Do not talk about my father Celene, I’m warning you.”
She didn’t let the crimson in her eyes glow, trying her best to prove her wrong.
February 10, 2026 at 1:50 PM
“I couldn’t even bring him back!” Rory’s voice failed her as she remembered the pain in Lou’s eyes when he’d understood Celene wasn’t coming back.
“Well maybe if you didn’t glorify the fact that you let your wolves take over, he would have gotten a better grip on his humanity!”
February 10, 2026 at 1:40 PM
The flame ignited as Rory raised her voice, both of them letting go of the pretence of a respectful exchange going out of the window.
“What are you saying?! That he’d rather Ender didn’t exist?” Cel glared.
“He was 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘯, destroyed everything around him! Raged out for weeks!”
February 10, 2026 at 1:30 PM
Cel stopped, turned around, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
“Maybe not. Maybe Lou and I fucked up when we chose to keep him. But I don’t regret it for a second. I don’t think he does either.”
Something snapped in Rory.
“Don’t you dare speak for him. He’s been through HELL because of you!!”
February 10, 2026 at 1:20 PM
“Excuse-me if I hate you having that kind of power on my baby.”
She turned around, ready to leave it there. To have the last word.
But Rory wouldn’t let her.
“I’m not the one who decided to have a child with a werewolf whilst hating occults. You can’t blame me for everything Cel.”
February 10, 2026 at 1:10 PM
“I tried to reach out. Multiple times. You saw me as the enemy.” Rory hammered.
Celene seemed to give up.
“You 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 the enemy Rory! Still are. You’re the threat that looms. The one who’ll potentially send my son to die if, one day, you decide you want to start a war with some other occult!”
February 10, 2026 at 1:01 PM
Finger pointed to Celene, the alpha felt her voice lower. She saw a hand raise in a protective gesture but didn’t stop the accusation coming out:
“So did I Cel. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 pushed me out, remember? Isi had to spend 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 to convince you to even let us meet Ender! How do you blame me for this shit!!?”
February 10, 2026 at 12:50 PM
Finger curling, she tried to hold onto the civilised version of her brain. They needed to air this out.
“So you’re saying you’re jealous of your own son?”
Rory knew this had come out more accusatory than she’d planned but she couldn’t help the aggressivity building up.
“I felt 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 Rory!”
February 10, 2026 at 12:40 PM
Anger and frustration were spilling out of Celene now. “You know, I almost felt bad about rejecting everything you made for him during those first few months here. But now it’s is hitting me again. I hate how much you care about him, while not giving a flying fuck about me.”
Rory’s body tensed.
February 10, 2026 at 12:30 PM
“Of course.” Celene breathed, low enough to be meant as a reflexion for herself.
But Rory was a wolf. She heard it, plain as day.
“What?” She all but barked.
“You only care about the pup, don’t you?” The question was shaky. And yet the scents that escaped from Celene weren’t fearful anymore.
February 10, 2026 at 12:20 PM
An eerie silence fell as they took each other in.
Rory’s insides were screaming to lunge, but she kept her cool. Even tried to extend a hand, symbolic gesture. She wouldn’t be a beast. Lou had asked for peace. She chose a neutral question.
“Hey. How’s Ender?”
February 10, 2026 at 12:10 PM
Rory had tried to keep away from Moonwood the whole day. She knew Lou was getting Ender back that day and didn’t want to interfere.
And yet, as she walked back into town after a day of running as a wolf, her brain still slightly situational, she paused. Celene had just came out of her old building.
February 10, 2026 at 12:00 PM
“Let’s make it real?” She smiled.
Throwing themselves at each other, they ended up in the bed too fast for Celene to give the rest of her speech. Yet she still managed to add:
“I used to believe I needed to be able to always do everything 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯. I love you for you showing me another way.”
February 8, 2026 at 4:01 PM
Celene dropped to her knees, hand on her heart.
“You read my mind.”
Ava cocked her head to the side, perplex.“What do you mean?”
Celene took a small box out of the drawer next to her. Opened it to show the ring she’d picked out for her favourite spy.
“I can’t live without you by my side anymore Ava”
February 8, 2026 at 3:50 PM
Months later, in a hotel room far away from Moonwood, Ava got down on one knee as Celene came out of the sauna adjacent to their room.
“I know I didn’t do it well the first time.” She started speaking, the blond gasping in answer. “But I thought, since we’re still telling everyone we’re wives…”
February 8, 2026 at 3:40 PM
They walked to the closest park to talk about future arrangements. Lou held on to Ender, the baby seemingly just as happy to see his dad as they thought he’d be.
Celene looked to Ava, hoping for advice. Yet all she did was push her chin up with a finger, giving her a confident nod. She’d do better.
