Also too: Douthat has the nerve to write "when development happens under progressives auspices, it is often soul-crushingly unattractive." Of course he can't say that the huge overgilded monstrosity that will dwarf the White House is attractive, because that would make him look idiotic.

Should resist, but: Douthat's column in the NYT: "No doubt there was a more careful and sensitive way to pursue the project." A sly way to avoid saying "destroy the East Wing without permission or planning".

I was proud and happy to be at a No Kings protest yesterday. It made feel there is a movement that is going to take down the regime eventually. Millions of people protesting, and of course the NYT has a tiny note below the fold on the front page and the story on p. 22. F them.
