Live starting a new (to me) game today #StardewValley. I know very little about it but will be under the expert guidance of NeocortexVT.

The search for a new co-op game continues :3

Babe, wake up, new sarcastic but entirely worthwhile internet abbreviation just dropped
Over on threads someone just use ai;dr and we all need to adopt that right quick

It's a little awkward doing Ever17 alternate endings with the skipping repeat dialogue, should I just do the full story again (maybe after a break for another game) or carry on as I am.

I think the scrollback and summarise approach works, but would apprecuiate any thoughts or preferences

Tail Tuesday and time for the third playthrough of #Ever17 The Out of Infinity. We've got the Yu ending and cried over the Tsugumi ending, now it's time to try to get all the others and the true ending

It's not working in VRC either.

Interestingly Project Babble can also do direct OSC output from their own software, so I may make a plugin that receives that directly = one less piece of random VR software to run.

Naturally this will be called Project Nyaable

Unfortunately my Vive Face Tracker doesn't want to work nicely on my Beyond. If anyone has any hints for this I'd appreciate it! Capturing the camera I can see that it sees my face just fine, and I'm powering it separately from the headset.

I have just ordered a babble, so we'll see how that goes

Just released VRCFTnyan 0.4 - This version will no-longer freeze your face after you disable VR based face tracking.

I've also been able to confirm that eye tracking is working, in addition to mouth tracking and therefore I believe this is feature complete!

I haven't been able to test simultaneously doing eyes and mouth. It looks like it works but I'm having major grief with SRanipal right now. Vive Face Tracker just doesn't want to play nice when attached to the beyond. It's not a VRCFTnyan bug as It's also borked in VRChat.

Soon...

Now that I have my Beyond2e, I can confirm that the eye tracking in VRCFTnyan actually works! (You'll want to use Babylonia not the stock BSB utility)

I need to push a quick update to fix a bug where disabling it leaves your face locked. I know what's causing it just... Time

I'd be down. Always wanted to do something like this

The fucking irony: Came downstairs to a cold draft in my well insulated living room, because a leaflet has been stuffed halfway through my letterbox - letting my heat out - and it's from @greenparty.org.uk

I support the Greens, I voted for them in the last GE and will do so again, but come on!

I really enjoyed that game, great choice!

Starting a new game in around 2 hours.

#ZeroEscape 999. After seeing the writing quality in Ever17, I think it'll be a good fit for my Saturday puzzle game slot
February 7, 2026 at 2:54 PM
So I finished #CrueltySquad 's third ending but I feel like I'm too dumb to actually understand it, what the actual heck is this game even about?

Probably didn't help that the ending text went by faster than I could actually read it! I'll have to look that up later

I find every vermintide-like game I try seems to prefer to just dump a ton of the same mob for you to just mow down, maybe DRG does a better job later on, but sadly £25 and a two-hour returns window... *shrug* maybe I'll give it another try if they do a free weekend?

Likewise, I think it's hard to do a horde shooter well. Serious Sam is a great example where you have a huge enemy variety that are all visually distinctive and have defined patterns that require you to prioritise and manage the different types in order to survive

IMO it's very hard to do procedurally generated levels well, which is why I also tend not to play roguelikes. Peak does it really well, but the only other really good example that springs to mind (at 1AM) is The Sentinel, and that's going back a bit!

Castle Crashers, what killed it for me was the latency on the controls

I really wanted to like Deep Rock Galactic, but sadly it turned out to be a kinda combination of Repo and Vermintide, two games I also don't get on with
February 6, 2026 at 1:20 AM
Sadly Castle Crashers and Deep Rock Galactic wern't games for me. The search for a new co-op game will continue next Thursday with Stardew Valley

I'm gonna swap Retro Wednesday and Music Monday around.

Monday is the day they make me go into the office and also my lowest energy day, I felt a hell of a lot better playing Beat Saber today than I did on Monday, and I think I moved more!

So it's now Microcomputer Monday and Workout Wednesday!

And the sole motivation for this was in case someone wanted to suck a cock but have it not be gay bro

The Frieren looking up challenge is a great example of this in action

I might be thinking of the First Encounters version rather than the Frontier version, or maybe it was done to counteract the weight of the class 8 hyperdrive.

Or I could just be talking out of my arse. It was a long time ago after all!

We're now in a situation where the US Department of Justice is likely the biggest distributor of CSAM since, well... Epstein I guess.
