Bill Beard, former chair of the Pima County GOP, shared this on his Facebook page. I'd describe Beard as one of the less extreme among our local Republican activists. But in his world—a world now firmly under Trump's control—this kind of hateful, violent fantasy is no longer in poor taste.

ICYMI: I had the privilege of working with Jim Nintzel at @tucsonsentinel.com on this analysis of Trump's 2024 performance in Pima County. The takeaway: he did better overall, and especially in some traditionally left-leaning areas, like Tucson's south side. See for yourself on the interactive map.
In 2024, Trump won over more voters in Pima County compared to 2020 run
As Republican Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House on Jan. 20, an analysis of election results in Pima County shows that his 2024 performance was an improvement over his 2020 showing.

Gorgeous days and nights with no end in sight. As I get older, I'd like to thing I'm getting better at not taking stuff like this for granted.

there appear to be two requirements for working in the second Trump White House:

absolute loyalty to Trump above country and a history of abusing women

It shouldn't surprise anyone that the backers of a criminal president-elect are eager to do lawless things. I fear it might not be long before we see some sort of showdown over the power of the federal courts, which relies solely on the obedience to the law of those soon to be under Trump's command.

Over the past few days, I've heard a number of news professionals refer to RFK Jr. as a "vaccine skeptic."

Willfully spreading disinformation and encouraging false belief isn't "skepticism." It's much worse. We've got to stop using flattering and softening language to describe outrageous behavior.

Maybe it’s time to start calling them oligarchs, then. I’ve always thought “billionaire” sounded a little silly.
The United States has oligarchs now.
Not merely rich people with more personal influence on politics than poorer people have, but a few extremely rich people closely connected to the national leader who act in government-like roles despite never being elected or nominated to any official position.
Breaking News: Elon Musk, a top adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, met with Iran’s UN ambassador to discuss defusing Iranian-U.S. tensions during the next Trump term, two Iranian officials said.

"Excellence matters."

Let's not forget that AOC became a U.S. rep by defeating a longtime incumbent Dem in a competitive district. That in itself is extraordinary.
I’m one of the few Dems in NYC who even RUNS a general election campaign, and the only one who ran a robust field op. We ran ahead of top of the ticket.

Excellence matters. A lot of folks w/ poor campaign fundamentals are now blaming “wokism” but haven’t held a town hall or knocked a door all cycle
