🔓 Our open-access review on inflammasomes in ARDS

🏥 ARDS treatments are limited

🫁 Multiple inflammasomes drive ARDS via IL-1β/18

💊 Their modulation offers potential therapies

The winter edition of FICM’s Resident Eye is out!

If you’re looking for some light pre-Christmas reading, I wrote a short article on the importance of research in ICM and how intensivists in training can get involved.

Thoroughly enjoyed coaching my first class for Cambridge University’s mixed martial arts team today.

Martial arts have had such a positive impact on my life, teaching me so much along the way. It’s a privilege to pass that on to the next generation of martial artists (& help win varsity of course).

A fascinating evening at @selwyn1882.bsky.social listening to Dame Sally Davies discuss the escalating global threat of antimicrobial resistance.

Collaboration from governments, industries, clinicians, patients & agriculture is essential to combat this silent pandemic.

Happy LGBTQ+ in STEM day!

I’m lucky to work in a very supportive institute, but many aren’t. The stats:

- 57% higher risk of burn out in clinical academics

- 50% consider leaving due to discrimination

- 33% advised not to come out

- 10% less students stay in STEM

Much still to do! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Hi all, I’m late to the intro party.

I’m an ICM reg in London & PhD student at Cambridge. My clinical interests centre around immune dysfunction in ARDS, shock, education & EDI.

Outside of work I’m a long suffering martial artist & canine enthusiast.

I look forward to connecting with y’all!
