Gavin just wrote to the beat as I sent it to him, using its structure as-is. The sample of the lecture about the meditation was supposed to be on a different track that I was working on and it just happened to fit the lyrics perfectly. rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/now-is...

I actually made it back in 2017 - t was an instrumental, mostly unchanged, after vocals where recorded. Another lucky moment: I happened to listen to an old mixtape with Black Moon songs and that’s ‘enemy’ part was on it rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/4-45-am

I don’t quite remember how I made this - it’s all a bit hazy, but I think it was 1 take - I sat down on a weekend, sent it to Gavin next day and that was it. Cut selection took much longer - and I spent like 8 hours recording them rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/spine-...

I was jamming on a Electric in Ableton, then I sampled it, chopped up and layered with bass and synth parts from Minilogue XD. Once I had verses, I added a different section for the chorus, along with scratches rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/set-it...

This beat started as a joke: I do not like drumless beats, I always found them a bit lazy. For the sake of intellectual honesty - I tried making my own… and ended up adding some sort of drums to each verse, with different characters matching each MC rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/you-ar...

The beat didn’t change much from the original that was used for recording but at some point I had 10 different arrangements, moving sections, adding and removing scratches. Once I had the structure in place I added extra layers to emphasize the chorus rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/scroll...

By accident I sent only the main loop, without drums and the rest. Gavin just assumed that’s what the beat is and recorded 1st take on the “drumless” loop. I was struggling with the ending and one day I was driving and heard Tequila Sunrise on the radio rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/passages

Originally Gavin recorded this on a different beat, which didn’t really match the flow. So this track is really a remix, but you’ll never have the chance to hear the original. Extended version is available on the EP we released in Jan 2025 rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/below-...

This was the 1st track we made, and the beat was just a sample + break loop. When I got the vocals I was also working on dnb/halftime track and I started blending both together and magic happened. I lost count of hours I spent recording the scratches tho rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/gives-...

Everything that’s wrong with music distribution and promotion in one short video youtu.be/L_qvmAXFCOg?...

(Even a tiny fish like me got hit with the „your track is on a scam playlist” thing)
I invested $100,000 to create my album & Spotify deleted it 😳

When Gavin said he’s gonna use this beat I assumed it was going to be a track full of punchlines etc - when I got the vocals - it wasn’t what I expected. But then the sample from Run DMC fell right into place, same for Big Daddy Kane in the chorus. rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/up-up-up

This track came tougher quite smoothly until… it had to be re-recorded and I spent a month mixing it. The constant build up and increasing tension in the beat provided a solid platform for Gavin to do his thing and match the energy. rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/mind-l...

The intro was the last track we actually made - I made 3 different beats. that were not used and eventually found a draft of an instrumental track which ended up being the final (4th beat). rapmangavin.bandcamp.com/track/pressure
