Back in 1984 I stood on the floor for Canada’s own Rough Trade — my first concert. The music was sharp, fearless, magnetic. But the crowd stayed with me: open, confident, free. I didn’t know then I was witnessing a community finding its voice. That night opened the door to everything that followed.
