my allegedly non-brutal firing involved:

–getting notified at 9pm that i lost my job of 5 years, effective immediately
–no explanation or investigation
–using transphobic language about me in the press
–tabloids publicly speculating about my sex life

but pls tell me how things have changed
also I'm sorry...the line about brutal firings. I waited maybe three to four months, daily, to see if the company was going to email me and tell me I had to move or lose my job. It was HELL. I was mentally not well!

As Alma notes, it was only months ago that four employees were illegally fired, Teen Vogue was shuttered, and employees, many who had done their work remotely for years, were forced to choose between moving to NYC with no assistance and no raise, to continue doing their work in office. I HATE CONDE!
today in NYT, an interview where the writers declared we are past the “brutal Condé Nast of yesteryear.” Of course, no acknowledgment of the illegal firings or targeted layoffs beyond an aside about Teen Vogue being “folded into” Vogue’s website

Will the roads in Pittsburgh ever get cleared? Am I stuck in my house forever? Should I move to a warmer city? Why can’t they ever just plow the streets?

I started HRT because I was going menopause at 36 and lemme tell ya, I am beginning to wish I was still having hot flashes when it is like -20 outside. Prayers for Lauren.

I moderate a discord that anybody can join for free if they want. I book punk shows and don't get paid for 'em. I co-host a podcast where listener engagement is a cornerstone.

when a corporation charges $5 and says "we're cultivating community around music discourse," community was never the goal.
