The reason I said anything at all is because I *do not* like any approach to this topic that actively or passively devalues a specific demographic.

I'm not saying, "Give men the spotlight."

I'm saying, "Don't act like they don't matter."

The person who I quoted blocked me?

That's... deeply frustrating.

Oh well.

We *need* to have a multifaceted approach to loneliness, the growing disconnect between people, their economic and societal causes, and the solutions we propose.

While we can't placate people or feed into their false narratives, we *do* have to care about everyone.

"Tons of these men are just complaining about not getting laid!"

Yep. Many of them have been taught that sexual prowess is paramount to their self-image, that they are OWED sex, and to devalue other meaningful types of connection and affection.

It's *fucked.*

As for straight, cis men: I do genuinely care about their loneliness. Their insecurities. Their frustrations.

They're people, too. And the worst of the worst in the world are fueling them, capitalizing on them, and warping their world view at a young age.

But they aldo have to realize that, too.

We should care about people in general being lonely. About how society has made us feel less connected and less valued, and how hard it's become for all of us to grow closer and build community.

We should care that we're *all* struggling to connect, to find comfort and companionship.
