Happy National Lobster Day! 🦞❤️🦞❤️🦞❤️🦞

More than 100 fishing vessels in New England are involved in our Environmental Monitors on Lobster Traps and Large Trawlers (eMOLT) program. Sensors collect bottom water temperatures, temperature profiles, and dissolved oxygen data from their fishing grounds.

Traveling the Gulf of Maine. We are blessed to have an amazing coast line from Cape Cod up through Maine and into Canada, this lobster took a 9 month (257 day) journey to take it all in!

Hello Summer Check out this keepah! Its great to be on the water with my trusted 1st mate Domino. Continuous testing of our On-Deck Data System has its advantages! F/V Maggie Sue is doing her part to feed temperature, dissolved oxygen & depth data into the eMOLT platform. Might need a bigger boat!?!

From Maine to Delaware, the eMOLT program continues to grow. Fishing gear of all types are being outfitted with sensors to provide temperature & depth profiles. Thanks to our partners who work with the local fishing communities to identify new fishing vessels to install the On-Deck Data System.
