Look, I think ALARA should have been reformed, but the timing of this announcement is pretty unfortunate, to say the least. Will not engender public trust in nuclear going forward...

In general, I don't feel like nuclear energy is being over-hyped right now, there's just a lot of investment interest and government support so dozens of companies competing for those resources. BUT everyone knew Fermi - founded by Rick Perry - was a huge grift: www.businesswire.com/news/home/20...

I wrote a little something about the history and future of nuclear power in Sweden, and why it's so interesting: open.substack.com/pub/jloverin...

Absolutely terrifying: these people are here legally, married to U.S. citizens. This could have been my family just a few years ago. ICE agents said they disagreed with the arrests, but that "they had to follow orders." www.nytimes.com/2025/11/26/u...

Well...when you put it like that...
A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.

Sound efficient?
