Louis Virtel has been Louis Virtel since 1986
She is somehow dressed as all three of Frances McDormand’s Oscar-winning roles at once
Miu Miu: Sandra Hüller definitely killed her husband, moreover, she butchered him

Have you been to a mall recently? It’s a 2007 immersive experience. They think you will buy dark wash jeans if they blast FutureSex/LoveSounds at you.

When the flight attendant offers “pretzels” and it turns out to be a snack mix with rye chips and garlic bread bites — there’s much more joy here than you’re letting on, Mary Ellen.

It’s vulnerable to pick a Worst Song Ever. It’s like confessing about a bully you have. I want to sit with a counselor and talk about all the ways “Red Red Wine” by UB40 has hurt me.

Who the fuck wants this? Does Glinda jump into a split too?
Here's a video 🚮

I can’t believe Tim Gunn isn’t returning to Project Runway. You know he’s walking around his apartment going up to random objects like “How’s bookshelf doing?”

I have never heard a scarier text about justifying a toxic relationship than Paula Abdul’s “Opposites Attract.” These are not opposites. She’s like “He’s a tyrant! / And I like to read!”

I see a lot of young people experiencing their first hopeful election. Take a seat sometime and let me tell you about when we elected Kelly Clarkson in 2002.

Louis' #KeepIt: "Did you know that Pop Culture Jeopardy is not eligible for the Best Game Show Emmy because you can only have one game show in a franchise nominated for the award. I'm sorry, I do not want to be stuck with one Emmy nomination, it's just not that cool." - @louisvirtel.bsky.social

I kind of have to root for someone whose player pose is “mischievous Reba”

It feels less “military parade” and more “war circus”

Sinners was trying to bend genres but the truth is, any movie with Irish dance in it is horror.

What if Morgan Wallen stormed off SNL because there’s no “Best of Ana Gasteyer” DVD

If you're looking for the most peaceful afternoon of your life, PLEASE go to Barnes & Noble during the Super Bowl.

Love that @louisvirtel.bsky.social on "Keep It" compares Fernanda Torres in "I'm Still Here" to Greer Garson—my first thought when I saw it was Mrs. Miniver, another matron who maintains composure through catastrophic events. But I agree that it could have used one scene of the composure cracking.

It’s weird seeing baggy cargo pants everywhere because they’re not being used for their primary purpose: concealing a Discman containing the album Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park.

The presenter shots at the Globes… it’s like they’re telling us our table isn’t ready

Have you liked the Globes showing Isabella Rossellini once every 45 minutes? Then you’re gonna love Conclave

I think the Globes announcer should be ominous for no reason. “This is Eddie Redmayne’s last nomination…”

As we head into 2025, remember that 1980 is 20 years ago. We all agreed on this.

Necessary shoutout to @irathethird.bsky.social and @louisvirtel.bsky.social for their holiday movie recommendations on their podcast Keep It — I watched Christmas in Connecticut for the first time ever this year and I am obsessed with it now. The hijinks, the comedy, the dialogue are all perfect.
What are everyone’s go-to movies between Christmas and New Year’s? Your favorites for whatever we call this span of random days?

I’m still planning to watch both Little Women 1994 and 2019, along with the new Carry-On movie on Netflix. But I want to hear about your list!
