What’s your pre-workday, pre-creative, pre-parenting, pre workout “let’s get shit done” ritual?
Like many great stories, @kalianebradley5.bsky.social’s The Ministry of Time is many things, all at once - a thriller, a sci-fi romp, a love story, an exploration of the immigrant experience, an examination of Empire - but primarily, it’s excellent. Hilarious often and lovely besides. Oof. So good.

Reading about Anglish yesterday, I realised that one of the most useful methods for proponents of this form of English is creating calques. What’s a calque, I hear you ask?

We need MORE Americans, not fewer. Attempting to revoke the 14th is as racist as it is short-sighted. Just ask countries like Japan and South Korea, who are realizing, far too late, with plummeting birth rates and restrictive immigration policies, that they’ve sabotaged a core part of their economy.
