I’m the Director of the Center for Historical Studies at Northwestern and also a gender historian. If I thought for a minute that our administration had cancelled this conference for political reasons I would be complaining, loudly. But this is not an accurate representation of what happened.

My daughter just got a big fat academic scholarship to Baylor today. I’m doing the dance of joy to see her achieve such a milestone. Haven’t stopped smiling since she read the email to me.

Kinda wish the WatchDuty app had two different sounds for the different updates they provide. I’ve had to rush to my phone 3 times this windy day only to see it’s a press conference about progress on previous fires (happy news!). Happy news needs its own sound!
