Conference Finals in Miami & San Diego, Flamengo–Palmeiras for Glory: Morning Espresso, 11.28
Jason Longshore breaks down an absolutely massive Saturday across the global game. In MLS, both Conference Finals take center stage as Inter Miami — powered by Lionel Messi’s historic postseason form — host underdog NYCFC, while San Diego FC’s dream expansion run meets Vancouver’s magical season out West. We dig into the key storylines, injury questions, tactical turning points, and the defining players who could send their clubs to MLS Cup. Then it’s off to South America, where the Copa Libertadores final delivers a true heavyweight bout: Flamengo vs Palmeiras in Lima. Two Brazilian superpowers, two contrasting paths, and one trophy that may define the decade in CONMEBOL. Plus: the UEFA Women’s Nations League final kicks off, Europe’s giants face rising pressure, and Arsenal–Chelsea headlines a huge Premier League weekend. Serie A title contenders clash, Liverpool try to steady the ship, and the latest from Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern fills out a packed global rundown. It’s your Friday Morning Espresso — MLS, Libertadores, Europe, South America, and everything in between. The game never stops — and neither do we.

The game never stops — and neither do we. It’s official: Tata Martino is back as Atlanta United’s head coach, marking a full-circle moment for the club and the city that fell in love with the Five Stripes. We break down what his return means for the locker room, the fanbase, and a team searching for its next identity. Plus, Josef Martínez exits San Jose after a strong year and remains open to a reunion in Atlanta — but what kind of role could he play in 2026 under Tata? Also in today’s Morning Espresso: Mauricio Pochettino opens up about building the culture of American soccer ahead of the 2026 World Cup, Cavan Sullivan delivers the winner for the U.S. U-17s in Qatar, and updates roll in from Europe — from Hansi Flick’s Barcelona to Achraf Hakimi’s injury, AC Milan’s new era, and more from The Refill. From the A to everywhere, it’s another jam-packed morning of soccer stories — and a familiar face back where it all began.
