I believe the tariffs were a purposeful sabotage strategy so Trump could pretend the inflation it caused was inherited and he was going to fix it. His per usual, create a problem , blame it on someone else, pretend to fix it by going back to what was working already and claim it like it was his idea
A global pandemic and Biden sailed the US out of it like a boss!
The economy WAS good, inflation was due the unprecedented conditions of a pandemic but it WAS coming down - until the tariffs.
