Dr. Jane Goodall was a remarkable individual – as a scientist, as an advocate for wildlife and wild places, and as a source of profound hope for the future of our planet. She brought such a joyful spirit and unfailing optimism to her work. #inspiration #hope #wildlife #conservation

The Accountant 2 was fun. Part action movie, part mystery, and most surprisingly, part buddy comedy. The chemistry between the brothers was incredible.

Trying a weeklong meditation challenge to experiment and change things up: meditating for an hour a day.
I meditate daily, but upping it to an hour today was definitely a new experience. Found myself getting carried away by thoughts more after a bit, and bringing myself back to refocus.

Thunderbolts* was enjoyable. Mainstream movies addressing mental health issues hopefully helps remove some stigma.

Going to be taking some days off over the summer. Anyone have any favorite books, tv shows, or video games that can be completed in a day?

I heard there was a secret ooze
It turned four turtles into dudes
But you don't really care for pizza, do ya?

They fought like this,
Two swords, a stick
A couple sai
Some nunchuck tricks
Those Ninja boys-a callin

Reminder to me after today's yoga class.
Do not ask my instructor "What's up, dog?" It just gives them ideas.

It's time for me to start my fundraising! As I have for the last several years, I'll be riding 150 miles to raise money for MS research, and I can use your help! If you can, please consider making a donation at events.nationalmssociety.org/index.cfm?fu... - THANK YOU!

Celebrating Valentine's day by going to see Heart Eyes.
I'm not a huge horror fan, so wish me luck.

Saw an early preview of Paddington in Peru with my family today.
Although not a perfect movie (that honor goes to Paddington 2) it is completely charming, funny, and delightful. I loved every minute of it's whimsy.

Went to Yoga class today, and it was so much less crowded. Welcome to February, where people fall off their New Year's Resolutions!

Every year I try to watch all the movies nominated for Best Picture.
Which means I am about to spend almost 4 hours watching The Brutalist.
See you on the other side.

Observation: Most people judge themselves and others based on where they are now.

I think it's more interesting to recognize how far someone has come to get to where they are now. We don't all start in the same place.

Hoping to keep moving forward with less judgment today.

Just finished "Hogfather" and it was so good. For the third Terry Pratchett novel I have read, my main thought is that the man knows how to write an ending that pays off so many great details.
It's awesome and thanks @redfraggle3.bsky.social for recommending it!

I think my favorite part about my new publication is the figures. It's on whether headbutting adaptations extend to the brain case in bovids (spoiler alert... maybe not?).
Here's a thread with figures that made it into the paper and others that didn't! 🧪 🧠

Did a bit of work yesterday on a project I am incredibly passionate about that I get to reveal soon.
While I don't mind weekend work, today is about relaxation and rest. Maybe finishing a book, going to my weekly yoga class, video games, and some family time. Here's to a lazy sunday.

Been using a day lamp on the recommendation of my doctor for these winter months, and it has made a big difference in my mood.
Plus it provides great light for my morning journaling.
Modern technology manipulating my biology and mood for my benefit is incredible.

Spent part of today with family going to our local board game shop and checking out the selection. I love that places like that exist where I can see fun.
Now if you need me we will be playing Azul!

Just reviewed my journals from 2024 as part of my annual reflection.
What an interesting year of growth and change. Glad I get to appreciate the small moments and change in retrospect, it's sometimes hard to when living through it.

Each new year, new coaching clients come to me dissatisfied with what they accomplished in the previous year.

Kind reminder: Don't let a focus on an accomplishment gap blind you to the incredible person you are and how far you have come.

Here's celebrating an end of 2024 filled with kindness.

My wife is taking me to see Nosferatu tonight, which I can only assume is a prequel to Renfield.
