Rewatching TNG, and I don't know if there's a better one-two punch of stand-alone episodes better than "Cause and Effect" and "The First Duty". Both probably top 10 IMO.

I don't watch much current TV so I had no basis for comparison, but I feel good that my thought that Tramell Tillman's performance as Milchick on Severance was Emmy-worthy turned out to be correct.
