I don’t obsess about my blog stats but I do like looking at things like top 10’s to get an idea of where my readers are coming from or which content is resonating. I thought it would be fun to look at the top 10 countries my readers are coming from. Here’s the top 5 to start with. 1, 2 and 3 are no surprise but I didn’t see China or Sweden coming in there.

I’m mostly over the redesign of iOS 26, I’ve gotten used to it and 26.1 ironed out a lot of bugs. It’ll improve over time for the issues I’m still seeing hopefully. I’ve been using the Apple FineWoven on and off since owning my iPhone 15 Pro but it’s been my most used case and on a whim and an Amazon sale I picked up a TechWoven out of curiosity. My much worn FineWoven on the left vs the new out of box version TechWoven on the right. On first picking it up, it feels more like a plastic than a cloth, the FineWoven is the opposite.

I wrote recently about how I’m shifting more and more towards using my iPhone for photography 90% of the time. During Storm Claudia here yesterday I had flooding meaning the road was closed and I was stuck inside. I glanced over at the window to look at the river and this bird was sat on the telephone cabling. I grabbed my iPhone 15 Pro, zoomed in to 3x and took the photo.

I’m not sure if you noticed but I didn’t say anything about those iPhone socks thingies until now, and that’s just to mention that I’m doing my best to concentrate on stuff I enjoy writing about instead of moaning about. I’m also posting more photography, after all this blog was to share my passions. I might have had some thoughts on those iPhone accessories pricing but instead of writing a blog post or having a sarcastic comment on social media I just let it go.

I came across this bug in iOS 26 whereby I couldn’t remove Siri Suggestions in Reminders. You can normally long press and tap hide, but this had stopped working across iPhone and Mac. After some investigation I’ve managed to fix it. Head into Settings, Apple Intelligence & Siri, Apps and then Reminders. Turn off Learn from this App. Now it’s gone.

I’m slowly but surely becoming an iPhone Photographer, something I didn’t see happening. I’ve always carried my big camera with me when out on day trips but as life’s been happening these trips have become fewer so I’m taking more day to day shots on my walks. What this means is I’m more conscious of my big camera, it’s more to carry when I’m doing other things like food shopping in town, I can’t edit the photos without a laptop and I can’t afford new lenses.

I’ve been struggling with finding my style of photography or a niche or what I enjoy but I think I’ve going about it all wrong. I’m starting to think of photography as projects, so for two weeks I’ll only take black and white then for another two weeks I’ll take interesting angles in every day etc.

I use my things, I don’t abuse them but they are out there with me day to day. My space black M4 Pro MacBook Pro is certainly showing it. Little scrapes here and there. Nothing stays perfect in this world. I like the aging and patina on things.

I never thought Animal Crossing would be a game for me but after playing it through 2020 I’m hooked and it’s the number one reason I didn’t sell my Switch 2 and re-engaged with the console. There’s a Switch 2 update coming in Jan 2026 that brings a visual update and new features including clean up to make wholesale changes to your island and a new location. It’s my calming game, I try to check in every day.

This is disappointing if true and makes me wonder how much worse it’s selling than the iPhone Mini, even that got two iterations. I really enjoyed my iPhone Mini until my eyes got worse as I’m aging and needed a larger screen. The iPhone Air for me is too expensive, I am tempted but when I look at it only being £100 less than the Pro it seems a bit of a rip off, even the Mini had two cameras.
