if you're a democratic senator and you're still voting to confirm trump nominees despite him allowing elon musk to gleefully dismantle the government then your brain has fallen out of your ass.

Per Bloomberg

"Trump relented despite countries promising only modest changes on border security and immigration.

Trump and his allies have held up those concessions as vindication of his approach."

The real cost of foolishness....

As for Mexico, Trump agreed to help curtail the smuggling of US guns into Mexico in exchange for 10,000 Mexican troops at the border. Wonder how his supporters at the NRA feel? Moreover, Mexico sent 15,000 troops to the border in 2023. So........what exactly did strong Trump gain? Facts matter.

The Washington Examiner reports the "temp" tariff pause with Mexico and Canada is a big win for Trump. Not so fast WE. Cite the source that fentynol and illegal aliens are a problem at the northern border. Canada agreeing to committing to more of the same is as ridiculous as it sounds.

This is exactly what we want to see from Democrats right now! There’s no excuse for Senate Democrats to be confirming any of Trump’s nominees while MAGA’s illegal power grab continues. If you’re represented by Sen. @schatz.bsky.social, be sure to thank him for fighting back against President Musk.
Exclusive | Democratic Senator Says He Will Stall Trump Nominees Until USAID Is Back
The move would require Senate Majority Leader John Thune to use precious floor time to advance the president’s nominees through the confirmation process.

It is now obvious (if it wasn’t before) Trump’s tariffs have little to do with fentanyl and the borders and a lot to do with America wanting to exert economic dominance over a country with a smaller economy. #bcpoli

OK, I'll show how I as a reporter, and experts I talked to, didn't appreciate what was coming.

I did a quick hit on DOGE after it was announced. I talked to experts. And the upshot was, well, only Congress can create a federal agency. How much power could this have? 1/

Trump tapped Elon Musk for 'DOGE,' but only Congress can create a new federal agency
President-elect Trump has tapped Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to lead what he's calling the "Department of Government Efficiency," or DOGE. Still, only Congress can create a new federal agency.
