Found this pretty racing pigeon in our garden. Traced owner, who didn't want it back as it had got lost. Arranged local rescuer pick up, but sparrowhawk got there first!

Sparrowhawks regularly visit our back garden - an alarm call followed by a sudden hush alerting us.

There is usually one cheeky tit or finch bravely on the bird feeder a few ft away.
