I think it’s clear that this current moment, politically, is traumatic to an extent…because why else do I start crying every time I leave a voicemail for a senator?

Ah, Dick Cheney, thank you for your service in turning me into the progressive I am today. All it took was when meeting you as a third grader, you shook all the men’s hands (including my younger brother)! Me? You pulled my ponytail and laughed as if I shouldn’t have been interested in politics. 🫡

I’m watching Designated Survivor for the first time because I find comfort in exposure therapy to the horrors at large. I genuinely can’t tell if life is imitating art or if it was art imitating life.
