RIP #Bilt 1.0
Rent paid for many flights and hotel nights. I'll never forget you.

Before you rage-post about your high credit card annual fee, do an audit of your card benefits.

Lounge access, statement credits, travel protections, hotel status—it adds up.

But if you're not getting value, downgrade or cancel. No one's forcing you to keep it 💳

Japan's 2026 peak cherry blossom forecast dropped, and the timing couldn't be better:
🌸 Tokyo March 29
🌸 Kyoto April 2
🌸 Sapporo April 30

And Capital One's 30% JAL transfer bonus? Runs til Feb 28.

Mother Nature and airline transfer bonuses are rarely this coordinated.

Registered for Hyatt's Bonus Journeys, and my Rio stay (3 nights) will now earn an extra 3,000 points 🎯

The deal: Earn 3,000 bonus points for every 3 nights you stay (up to 21k total).

Valid for stays Feb 2-April 15, 2026. Works for existing bookings, award stays, and non-consecutive nights.

Alaska Atmos Ascent just bumped to 85K points + companion fare for $4.5K spend. $95 annual fee.

That's essentially a business-class round-trip to Europe if you know the sweet spots, or even a handful of domestic economy trips.
SUB szn continues 👀

I owed $8k in taxes, opened a new premium travel card, paid the bill with it, and walked away with enough points for round-trip tickets to Japan. Processing fee: $150. Trip value: $2,000+. Your tax bill could fund your vacation. The welcome bonus math checks out 👀

February transfer bonuses are live:
➡️ Capital One to Japan Airlines/JAL = 30% bonus. Ends 2/28.
➡️ Capital One to Avianca LifeMiles= 15% bonus. Ends 2/11.

What's in your credit card graveyard? The cards you got, regretted, and either canceled or sock-drawered?

I'll go first: Amex Business Gold. 4x categories were more restricted than I realized (specific vendors or merchant coding).

Okay, let's talk Gemini credit card ✨

I'm team points all the way. But here's what's got me curious: a credit card that earns bitcoin instead of cash back. Meaning your "rewards" could actually appreciate significantly in value.

If you have it: Do you like it? Is it worth it?

Don't sleep on Capital One Shopping targeted email offers—I've easily scored 20%+ on stuff I was buying anyway 👀

No Cap One card needed, works just like Rakuten. Sign up via 🔗 in bio for a boosted $80 welcome bonus.

Got approved for the #Bilt Palladium 👀

Plan: turn this into a 3x everywhere card without rent/mortgage.

Year one target: ~100k Bilt points
(I'll break down my simplified approach in a follow-up post).

📌 United cardholders: Holding both a personal + business card = automatic 5k miles/year. Yes, even the no-AF Gateway counts as your personal card 👀

The points were never the goal.

Book the trip. Close the laptop. Touch grass (preferably at a luxury property using transferable points).

When's your next redemption? 👀

United's Mile Play promotion is back again, through March 9.

My offer: one $100+ trip to earn 3,000 extra United miles.

Let's say I book a flight for $200. I would get the base 5x miles + 2x w/ United Explorer credit card = at least 4,400 miles (worth ~$55).

Here's how to register 👇

What I'd tell my 20-something self about credit cards:

- Treat it like a debit card → only spend money you have
- Pay in full every month → never pay interest
- Keep payment $ in a HYSA during the float
- Stack rewards on everything
- Learn to convert points → travel the world 🌍

Link your Instacart & United MileagePlus accounts:
- Make 1 order within 60 days
- Get 500 United miles

If you're already using that $20 Chase Ink Instacart credit every month, this is just bonus points for doing what you're already doing.
