aww thanks! I've been trying to get back into writing a little more short stuff so the prompts I've been working on have been good practice for me. plus it gives me an excuse to keep making wy a handful in any reality lol

"I'll win you over with my charms, Song Mingi, just you wait and see." "Best of luck to you." He swears he can hear a hint of a smile in Mingi's voice. "I don't need luck," he answers with certainty. Wooyoung was never one to back away from a challenge he knew he'd win. "Now, tell me something: is that your gun I feel pressing into my thigh or are you just happy to see me?" text: It's true. Mingi’s dark hair had been in the early stages of curling around his ears, but now long strands frame his face down to his chin, though now messy from the missing beanie. It's been dyed, too, a cool grey with a blue tint. "Uh. Yeah?" Mingi blinks at him, not at all prepared for the sudden switch up. Wooyoung nods. "It looks good," he says. "You look good." Nice. How original. Mingi squints at him. "I think that's the first nice thing you've ever said to me." He makes a face and it's adorable. How devastating. "Don't know if I like it or not." "We can figure it out in couples counseling if you want, but first can I please warm up with your coat? I feel like I'll be on the verge of a new meaning for 'blue balls' before the night ends," Wooyoung pleads, pulling his jacket closer to his torso. "You'll get your hat back, I promise. Just. Please." Mingi stares at him silently, expression unreadable before Wooyoung spots the first crack. "Fine," he says slowly, and starts to make the move of taking off the coat. "But if you try toβ€”oof." text: He doesn't get to finish his sentence before solid weight rushes into him, wiry arms wrapping around Mingi's waist and back in a secure hold. "What the fuckβ€”oh my god, you're freezing!" Mingi squawks, squirming wildly to free himself from the one-sided embrace as Wooyoung holds on tight like a leech. "Keep it down, you're being so dramatic," Wooyoung tuts. He rubs his cheek against cashmere and hums in content. "I never said anything about needing to borrow your coat. This seemed far more effective than just wearing it myself." "You're the worst," Mingi groans, though he stops trying to fight it. His shivering is already starting to subside. "I try." They stand in silence for a few minutes before Wooyoung loosens his hold and starts to move. He steps back enough for cool air to circulate between them. Mingi observes him, watching as Wooyoung takes out the beanie and reaches up to place it back on Mingi's head as it was.

text: "Hey, Mangi." "Stop calling me that." "Fine. Mingi-yah." There's a sigh. "What?" "Let me in your coat for five minutes." "Huh?" Mingi stares at him this time, looking at Wooyoung like he grew a second head. His lips part slightlyβ€”is he wearing lip balm?β€”revealing one front tooth that's longer than the other. Wooyoung is immediately charmed. Mingi has never made anything close to a smile around him before to notice. It's cute. "Excuse me?" "You heard me. Let me wear your coat." "No." "Pretty please? Just until I warm up." "Not a chance." "So stingy, Mingi-yah," Wooyoung pouts, taking another step. "I'm of no use to you out here at all if I'm frozen." "Don't tempt me with a good time," Mingi snorts under his breath. text: You have no idea, Wooyoung thinks. I'd treat you so good if you'd let me. Huh. So maybe Yeosang was onto something after all. He'd have to unpack that later with a couple of cigarettes and Hongjoong’s good whiskey. "Fine," Wooyoung hums instead. He inches closer, now within arms reach of the taller man. What does he need all that height for anyway? Tall people aren't that agile, and he proves his point by snatching Mingi’s beanie right off his head with lightning speed. "I'll just borrow this!" "Hey!" Mingi exclaims, trying to make a grab for the hat and failing. Ha. It's like taking candy from a baby. A very large baby. With a concealed weapon. "Give that back!" "Nah," Wooyoung grins, and shoves the beanie inside his jacket. There’s a witty remark on the tip of his tongue, some quip or tease ready to spill, but it dies there once his gaze settles. "You changed your hair."

text: "Hi, Mangiiiii. Did you miss me?" He watches the taller man close his eyes and release one long exhale through his nose. Vapor swirls and twists in the air like smoke around his face. Wooyoung doesn't get a reply or any sort of acknowledgement, but his smile never dims. Wooyoung likes all of Seonghwa’s personal bodyguards for different reasons. It's never boring when he and Yunho work together. Jongho, although a more recent addition, is sharp and one of the few he's spent time with outside of the job. And then, there's Mingi. Mingi is by far his favorite. They aren't particularly close or anything. Quite the oppositeβ€”Mingi can’t seem to stand Wooyoung for some reason, which makes Wooyoung a bit obsessed with the need to push his buttons any way he can. Yeosang called it a grade-school crush. Wooyoung called him crazy. "'Of course I missed you, Wooyoungie, it's been so long,'" he starts in an exaggerated deep voice. "'You've gotten more handsome since I last saw you. Red hair looks great on you. Too bad we're not on patrol in the car tonight, otherwise I'd let you-'" text: "Don't you ever shut up?" Mingi asks flatly. "Or do you just love the sound of your own voice that much?" Too easy. "I do, but hearing your lovely voice is a close second," he says, moving in a step closer. That earns Wooyoung a scoff. He takes a moment to examine Mingi under the orange-yellow light. No statement designer sunglasses blocking half of his face this late in the evening. He looks properly dressed for this weather in a sleek black coat that reaches past the knee, turtleneck and a beanie pulled down over his ears. Only the finest for Seonghwa’s favorites. Wooyoung feels a chill, or something, course through him. He's suffered worse, but maybe he should have listened to San about breaking out the thermals. There’s a chance of snow in the next hour, but who knows how long Hongjoong and Seonghwa's "meeting" will run. He itches to pull out the pack of cigarettes in his back pocket, his go-to bad habit and distraction, but Mingi complained about the smell once and Wooyoung isn’t that much of an asshole. But then he gets an idea, and he has to fight to keep his face and tone neutral.

At Wooyoung’s persistent pout, he sighs. "What if I make this worth your while?" text: Wooyoung frowns. "Hyung, you know there's nothing that'll make me want to spend hours out in the cold-" "I know which of Seonghwa’s guards you'll be sharing watch." This makes Wooyoung immediately perk up, all traces of annoyance gone as he tails Hongjoong out of his office. "Is Yunho? He's always a lot fun. Or is it Jongho again? Sannie will be so jealous." His prodding is met with silence, which can only mean one thing, and that stops Wooyoung dead in his tracks. "No way," Wooyoung grins like he's trying to flash every single tooth. "No fucking way." "Wooyoung," his boss sighs again. Hongjoong comes to a halt and turns around to give him a tired look. "Play nice." "Yes, sir," Wooyoung says, offering a mock salute that makes Hongjoong roll his eyes before he walks away. "I always play nice."
