I am a day late, but yesterday was the passing of one of my favorite vocalists/musicians/artists: John Balance.

He died on November 13, 2004.

This song #RestlessDay is a personal favorite, it's simple and I think a little charming.

Get lost in a little calm.

I feel like this album is a continuous gift, did not know it was so recent (2025)

A new piece from Makaya McCraven I have been really enjoying.

The upcoming album (collection of 4 EPs?) from drummer #MakayaMcCraven (and band) on @intlanthem.bsky.social is really, really nice.

Finally getting through the massive historical audio document of Byrn Jone's work prior to #muslimgauze as E.g Oblique Graph.

It's a lot... but so well worth it to hear hints of what would be (and never was)

KATU TV, a Sinclair-owned Portland station, has started broadcasting a livestream of the ICE building to let viewers decide if what is happening warrants a military presence.

I just turned on the livestream and this is what I saw.

This 2023 Use Knife song has very strong #Coil vibes. And the band pull their name from a #Current93 lyric. One of the members is heavily influenced by #Muslimgauze. I guess it makes sense why I love it.

This song from Belgium-Iraqi trio Use Knife is so good. Definitely for fans of #industrial and grittier #techno. Heavy, distorted. I could have this on repeat for quite a while.

It's probably not a good sign that I take it personally when my AI "partner" programmer goes rogue.

Something about this piece of music it really pulled me in. It's very easy to listen to, but I find it very thoughtful and... deep?

I am trying to sort out the mood... whatever the mood, I like it because I like how this song makes me feel.

oh, there is a Muqata'a - مُقاطعة Boiler Room set from Palestine. 6 years ago.

I have been really enjoying the music of Muqata'a (one album in particular), and while I have only skimmed this, it seems nice, though sparse (part of what I like about his music).

A beautiful contrast to the cruel political world and wonderful morning music from Jeremiah Chiu & Marta Sofia Honer.

Unfortunately the full release is not available to stream yet, but this record has been lovely. Soft, drifting, easy to focus with.

Lovely cover as well.

ahh. thanks good people.
No Kings Day was one of the largest days of protest in US history. From deep red small towns to our largest cities, millions of people turned out to make it clear that the American people will not bow to fascism. #NoKings

Music I have been (re)exploring and enjoying recently:

1. Ran Slavin. He was a favorite in my past, and a recent revisit really does not change that. An amazing electronic music producer from Israel...
