The EPA is abandoning its duty to protect our health and is instead protecting industry profits. I talked with @cbsnews.com.web.brid.gy about how Americans will be left footing the bill from poorer health and higher healthcare costs.

Plans to repeal the fuel efficiency standards for vehicles will mean more air pollution, higher health care costs, and a sicker population. I joined experts from around the country today to tell NTHSA why this is a terrible idea.

Ob delivers a footling breech while I stand amazed
I resuscitate same infant who came out down and Ob comes over and lays relieved head on my shoulder on hearing baby cry
Really, though the gold star goes out to the infant born a fighter.

Apparently originalism only matters if it aligns with the xenophobic instincts of the majority of the court.

We can’t solve what we don’t name. It’s 2025 and the fact that #fossilfuels are still not mentioned as the main driving factor for #climatechange shows how complete industry capture is.

Climate change is the greatest driver of health for a child born today and the “Make America Healthy Again” report fails is big ways and small to direct the nations attention to the biggest upstream drivers that could make children healthier. Read my take with Grace Wickerson on why

PERSPECTIVE: By ignoring climate change as a threat multiplier, MAHA is missing the forest for the trees and will unnecessarily put the lives of millions of children at risk, argue @lisapatel.bsky.social of @docsforclimate.bsky.social and Grace Wickerson of @scientistsorg.bsky.social.

Tell me you don’t care about children without telling me you don’t care about children #protectsnap
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

This is incredibly dangerous. The world is changing faster than people either understand or are prepared for. Journalism is essential in building that consciousness. #climateaction
NEWS: CBS News gutted its climate team as part of the big Paramount layoffs this week. These journalists had been doing incredible reporting on extreme heat, flooding, clean energy investments and more.

When I feel sad about who we’ve become as a country, I remember those in power do not represent most of us. Watching Chicagoans stand up for a total stranger being treated inhumanely—I’m reminded that most of us are kind, caring, and decent. And we’ll fight for a kind, decent, caring world.
This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

Community action works.

3. While claiming to want to hold special interests to account, the recommendations are anemic at best on that count. Not a surprise but worth saying it out loud.

2. I can't be sure, but I think they gave Lee Zeldin free reign to insert random sentences/phrases about being pro-growth and pro-economy whenever the language veered too far into holding industry to account for the pollution they caused.

Reading the #MAHA report—3 things struck me.

Instead of a thoughtful framework from experts in kids’ health, it’s a mishmash of whatever irked RFK Jr. enough to jot down. Worth noting: not a single children’s health expert is listed as an author. Not. One. bit.ly/45Xl82a
