This study found a substantial rise in the number of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)medication fills from 2019 to 2023. Both stimulant and nonstimulant fills increased among adults. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants accounted for one in three fills in 2023. bit.ly/451AVNp

Issues re involuntary tx are multi-layered. Demands multi-dimensional & multi-perspective appreciation of risks. Here, voluntarily admitted patients subject to holding powers had more severe illness at admission than those without holds. Results suggested similar treatment outcomes for both groups.
