With Soundgarden being inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, I had to revisit this and work on it a little more. No singer of our generation hurt more than losing Chris Cornell for me. His lyrics resonated more than the others. What amazing talent lost…… but grateful for the songs he left.

Good morning everyone! Wishing everyone an awesome Friday! If I can hold off the Sandman, I’ll be painting live later tonight on the Tubes!

I hope everyone is having a good night. If not, just remember a new day is just a few hours away.

What to know what I really think? My weekly newsletter is the source where I share all my newest work first and of course, how my crazy brain works.

Sam Raimi's 'THE EVIL DEAD' was released on this day in 1981, and here's my poster for the NARO's showing of "The Evil Dead 2" this Oct. 24th. I'll be signing posters until they are all gone. #bluskyart

Coming up this Friday, I've got another newsletter coming out with another Flash Friday 48hr painting sale on my site!

I had a chance to get to the Norfolk Drawing Group and paint Melissa again. She is a great model and always manages to freeze a pose like a statue. Even able to return to the exact pose after breaks. This was 18x24 oil on canvas. #bluskyart

This was the painting that got away from me. It was going to be my nocturne painting……but the owner moved it that night. So plan “B” was my Coleman bridge nocturne view from the fishing pier.

My only good drawing from last weeks Norfolk Drawing Group. Sam was an awesome model that night..

Still catching up with last week. Here's my other competition paintings for Gloucester Arts Festival. I feel my technical level of painitng got better this year despite buring the candle at both ends with a large daytime painting 24x36 and a reasonably large nocturne 18x26. #bluskyart #art #pleinair

Much to my surprise, the light shined on me once again. SECOND PLACE for "Mobjack Watermen" 24x36 plein air oil on cradle board. This is truly humbling as the level of talent from my fellow artists is IMMENSE! Their paintings were so beautiful and technically amazing. #pleinair #art #bluskyart

80 years ago, Howard Brodie in 1945 created a front line illustration of a rifle company medic in WWII.

Painting dump of my favorite demos I did for my Wednesday evening class. We used water soluble oils, which IMHO is probably the best alternative for those wanting to go solvent free. I like Cobra water soluble paints the best. #art #bluskyart #painting #artist

“9:15 on a Friday Night” - 9x12 oil on canvas from last Wednesday’s class demo using Cobra water-soluble oils. These are great paints to start off with and are completely non-toxic for those worried about working with solvents. The chroma is better than other brands so far that I’ve tried.

JAWS movie poster for the NARO is done and off to the printers! I’ll be selling JAWS posters all weekend or until they sell out at the NARO Cinema in Ghent Norfolk.

"Girl in Red Shawl" 9x12 oil on canvas. This was my demo from last week. If you have followed my work long enough, you might have remembered I had done a smaller painting of this years ago. I’ve painted Iffatt several times and she’s always fun subject.

“Windy City Stroll” 9x12 oil on canvas. Demo from my Wednesday night oil painting class.
