COVER REVEAL! The letter. The cottage. The lone figure walking toward what she doesn’t yet understand. It captures the emotional truth of the story- that even when life falls apart, something unexpectedly beautiful may be waiting. Thanks to @regalhouse.bsky.social

Art as Resistance: A reminder to love.

Why I took January’s chalkboard off the porch early, and chose this saying for February. lindaksienkiewicz.com/art-as-resis...
Art as resistance: a reminder to love - Linda K Sienkiewicz
I struggled to find the right message for my February 2026 chalkboard until I thought about love. That's what we need now.

This was me, trying to remember what I could from high school Spanish.

Cowboy is watching me get ready to take him on a walk. It’s a process when it’s 19°. But the sun is glorious and we are going out

“Impor-unt.”

Why would anybody pronounce important like that? On a tv ad yet?

It’s not good enough that DJT deleted a racist video that he posted. He should be deleted.

It’s shocking that no one is calling for his immediate removal.

Or maybe it isn’t.

How far we’ve fallen.

I’m going to say the quiet part out loud: Saying “God put Trump in the office” is the best argument against a god.

I’m also out of coffee! the life of a writer, apparently.

How is your day going?

Gosh, we’re looking forward to some subzero temperatures in Michigan with high winds again…
a man wearing a hat and headphones is sitting in a car and saying `` it 's a little chilly out ''

I found messages in the snow. I like the sayings (even though the writer misspelled grateful)

I’m not sure what the numbers signify…? Anyone know?

My homage to the late Gee Gee Rosell, owner of one of the most delightful bookshops ever. She and Buxton Village Books were an anchor in the Outer Banks community, and a friend and supporter of my work. open.substack.com/pub/lindaksi...

I’m fine now. No one is in danger. The dog is safe

I wrote this piece in 2011 about ducking into Buxton Village Books on a rainy day on the Outer Banks. I’m revisiting it after learning that the owner, Gee Gee Rosell, has passed away. 💔

Some places—and people—stay with you.

Editing is my favorite part of writing. It’s when you pull everything together… and maybe pull your own hair a bit too. But at least you have something on the page to shape, right?
