LOVB Madison’s Callie Schwarzenbach was named League One’s Player of the Week.

The former Husker middle blocker put up 14 kills while hitting .479 with 3 blocks against LOVB Nebraska. She is averaging 1.29 blocks and 4.0 points per set this season.

The Supernovas overcame an 7-0 deficit to start the fourth set. However, they couldn't dig out of an 0-2 hole in the match against Orlando on Sunday.

“We can’t wait for two sets before we start to go, grind and get after it,” Brooke Nuneviller said.

LOVB Nebraska sweeps Atlanta 25, 21, 20 at home.

Drewniok finished with 12 kills, 12 digs and 2 aces while hitting .545. Larson added 9 kills while Thater put up 6 kills, 2 aces and 2 blocks.

Atlanta finished with more kills (43-37) but missed 12 serves. Jimerson had 11 kills on 17 swings.

Reagan Cooper is the only player who hasn’t appeared in the Supernovas’ first four matches. I asked Omaha coach Luke Slabe about where she stacks up compared to the other outside hitters. Here is what he said:

Drewniok is up to 11 points with 8 kills. Winters has 7 kills.

Jimerson has 10 kills on 12 swings.

FINAL: Orlando prevents the Supernovas' comeback and earns a 25-18, 25-20, 16-25, 24-26, 15-9 win.

Nuneviller finished with 27 kills at a .364 clip to go with 14 digs. TeBrake added 11 kills and 10 digs. Omaha hit .235.

Abercrombie led the Valkyries with 22 kills (.400).

After fighting off three set points, LOVB Nebraska takes the first set 27-25 over Atlanta.

Drewniok had 5 kills, an ace and block. Larson added 4 kills. Nebraska hit .314 in the set.

Jimerson paced Atlanta with 6 kills on 6 swings.

Down, but not out — after falling behind 7-0, the Supernovas rally to win the fourth set 26-24 to force a fifth set against Orlando.

Nuneviller had 7 kills (.353) in the set and an ace. She has 24 kills for the match. TeBrake added 5 kills in the set.

TeBrake had an attack sail long, but Omaha challenged looking for a touch.

The referees say there was not one despite the protests of the Supernovas who were pointed to the video screens.

They are tied at 20-20 in the fourth set.

After Orlando went up 18-15, the Supernovas respond with 5 straight points to go up 20-18. Both teams are out of timeouts for the remainder of the set.

Londot got a block and Nuneviller added a kill to jump start the run.

Omaha is chipping away at its deficit and trails 14-10 in the fourth set after three straight kills from Creighton alums (Reinhard x 2, TeBrake).

Then after the timeout, Nuneviller records an ace.

Orlando jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the fourth set. Foster with 2 aces and a kill while Abercrombie added two more kills in the run.

The Valkyries are up 8-1 at the first media timeout. They have 6 kills on 8 swings.

The Supernovas stay alive by claiming the third set 25-16 over Orlando after the set was tied at 14-all. The Valkyries lead the match 2-1.

Omaha hit .326 in the set as Nuneviller had 6 kills and TeBrake added 4 kills and 2 aces. Nuneviller has 17 kills and 11 digs today.

Pukis is in to set and Shime will play opposite. Guedpard and Abercrombie out.

The Supernovas build their lead to 20-14 after an attack error and an ace by TeBrake.

TeBrake has 3 kills this set and 5 today.

Omaha needs to win this set to extend the match. Orlando closed strong in the first two sets.

The Valkyries are hitting .299 led by 10 kills fro Luper at a .474 clip. Abercrombie has 8 kills.

Nuneviller is up to 11 kills and 8 digs while hitting .385. Omaha is hitting .163 for the match.

WOW.

Merritt Beason chased down a ball near the edge of the court. Then records another dig as she scrambles back to her position. The dug another Orlando attack before Nuneviller ends the rally with a kill.

Orlando leads 17-16 in the second set.

The Supernovas answer back with 3 straight to cut their deficit to 16-15 in the second set.

TeBrake hit a kill off the block, Nuneviller fired a shot off the block again and then Hilley blocked Luper.
