2025 was tumultuous, but I'm choosing to focus on the good. I made new friends, took up drawing again, and joined 2 amazing game dev teams.
I couldn't have predicted any of it, let alone resolved to accomplish it.
Here's hoping 2026 brings brighter days for all of us!

Figuring out a massive plot point during your day job is weird because coworkers look at you funny when you exclaim, "I know how the corpse got there!" while doing routine paperwork.

It was a blast getting to work on this project with so many amazing artists (who also happen to be amazing people)!
Brainstorming a new in-game magic system with a brilliant team of devs was exactly what I needed to turn my mood around. I'm lucky to work with some very cool teams.
It's good to know small indie studios are still dedicated to keeping human art and storytelling alive!

I keep seeing arguments that AI isn't theft because "all art is built off the work of others," but there is a marked difference between studying the work of a creator you admire and applying their techniques in YOUR own way and telling AI to vomit out a goose in the style of Van Gogh.

Ideas are the hardest part of creation, and they are also the heart of it. It crushes me to see them being outsourced to AI. It can only consume and regurgitate, and the result will be more bile than substance.
