and if some message you read online not really targeted at you gets you feeling something, unpack that. maybe its ones self, maybe we're subconsciously defending a loved one, excusing behaviors, whatever. again these are general statements! nuance is hard online.

but its not a firing squad. its some randos that won't interact with you online. no big deal. and everyone can do what they want. but it says something about ones moral center if, when you know why something is problematic, you participate in it anyway simply cause you can.

when my hands act up too much i just unplug the leapmotion and go without it
audio is impossible tho. hopefully chat is good at letting you know.

a lot of folks online tend to think if they don't see it, it's not happening. if they don't know about it, it's not happening. they're surprised when something that's been going for decades is still going because they stopped paying attention.

the problem isn't so much other people seeing you play the game... it's the company seeing you play the game
if you're online enough that you hear people saying you shouldn't do something reasonable, and you shrug it off instead of look into it when you know the stakes, that's a moral failing

(not attacking, following your line of thinking) you're not giving up horse game to appease anyone. you're giving it up because genAI is garbage and companies that touch it need to know not to touch it and the only way to do so is for us to stop using their products.
