i think what distinguishes a good astrologer from a great astrologer is not their capacity to say, lecture, or inform, but one that really listens. the nuance is in the listening.

i love that bell hooks mentions spirituality as an essential part of love, of knowing love. this endless, bigger-than-us, all encompassing, compassionate being. no wonder young people don't know how to love.

ultimately, astrology as philosophy is the process of reification - treating ideas, beliefs, and concepts as if they were real, concrete, physical entities. to make an abstract idea into an object.

it makes sense why the Sun rejoices in the 9th (House of God), and represents the soul's Will. our ability to choose, and decide for ourselves, to act upon our Will is God's gift to us.

if you really want to understand cancers, remember that the crab moves laterally. they are not direct. this is why mars, the planet of direct action, is uncomfortable in this sign. you have to approach cancers in a way that doesn’t make them retreat into their shells.

also let me add another layer of challenge here: wouldn't "accepting reality as it is" also be a form of escapism? moving on, getting on with it, moving past it? isn't that also a way to avoid looking internally?
people have a right to seek relief from pain.
"facing reality as it is" does not have to be torturous.
this is why astrology is sacred. symbolism is sacred.

is it crazy to say that ppl don't want to or aren't open to astrology bc they're unable to be challenged in their beliefs? they always think it's the other way around, people challenging astrologers, but....think about it.....you can't suspend disbelief? not even for a moment?

people have told me before that they think astrology is a form of escapism, a way to "not face reality as it is, and to find excuses from self responsibility." i disagree.

okay, im gonna say it, i love getting my heart broken. maybe it's bc of the mars influence over my venus, but i just feel so empowered--it's fuel, it's alchemy. being on the verge of insanity or madness is where genius lies. just ask plato.
