“If a former director of the National Theatre says that “more harm has been done than good” to the arts by the new Labour government, it is safe to say things have got off to a rocky start …”: Charlotte Higgins @theguardian.com: www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
‘Worse than the 1980s’ – that’s the arts sector now. It’s not a good look for a Labour government | Charlotte Higgins
So many pre-election promises: but still a cultural malaise spreads from our schools to museums, galleries and theatres, says the Guardian’s chief culture writer Charlotte Higgins

Spent about half an hour tonight trying to find a new series to watch and settled on this. I'm two episodes in. Feel like I'm going to really love it as the series progresses

Glad someone had the guts to say it to him.
Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde to Trump: "I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian, and transgender people in Democratic, Republican, and independent families, some who fear for their lives ... and the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals"

I'm new to the international teaching scene. I'd be grateful if anyone with experience could give me an insight into assessment and data reporting in comparison to British schools. Pros? Cons?

What would you say are the main differences between British and international teaching in general?

The mind boggles. I'd love it now if some of the IHT was used to fund pay increases for doctors, nurses, teachers etc
Doctors, nurses, barristers, civil servants, postal staff, BT workers, teachers, bin men & firefighters are selfish communists when they strike for better pay but farmers, against paying IHT on farms over £3m (£3,000,000!) are perfectly fine.

I used to rather enjoy listening to her on my morning commutes down the motorway. Scott Mills will be a fab replacement though

Our freight finally arrived at the weekend so I've been able to populate my bookshelf at work.

Do you have any recommendations? I'm particularly interested in pedagogy, curriculum and staff development.

A busy morning continuing to plan the next part of our CPD journey using @walkthrus.bsky.social

I love the simplicity of them and how effective they are when used correctly in the classroom

Deactivated my 'X' account. Way too toxic. This already seems like a nicer place. Look forward to making connections
