@empirepoduk.bsky.social I have been listening to the Irish episodes. It was mentioned that the catholic community initially welcomed the squaddies, but what wasn't mentioned was the idiotic idea to locate them in RUC bases, immediately aligning them in Republican eyes as part of "them".
