As the grandfather of a 6 year old beautiful granddaughter who passed away 2 weeks ago of neurodegenerative rare disease, and whose family felt supported by NORD and the rare disease community, we will not give up the fight.
For the past couple of years, it's seemed that finally, people were starting to pay attention to rare diseases and work toward curative therapies. Rare Disease Day represents the promise that we will not leave those with rare diseases behind. All of that, gone in the blink of an eye.
