I think the problem is that when people think of themselves as 'normal', they are constantly looking for justifications for the belief that other people are 'not normal'. Epistemological permissions, if you like.

This foxglove grew wild at the back of our garden this year (ie. no-one planted it) and I've never seen one flower quite so enthusiastically and continually. It's been going well over a month already 🌱
