Trump is literally threatening to invade an ally, then when other allies object he threatens to tariff them, and then he refers to those tariffs as "it's awful what Europe has done to themselves."

This is "stop hitting yourself" level shit, but with the global economy.

The US must be so proud.

Just saw the last portion of the Passion of Joan of Ark, a silent black and white French art film (perhaps the first art film) from the 1920s, and it was genuinely excellent.

Natalie Portman's haircut in V for Vendetta was homage? Wild.

Love #puzzles and #Canada? Want a puzzle you will want to do again, and then give to a friend? A puzzle where the shapes of the pieces is also a work of art? (Zoom in! Check the Alt text!)

Absolute winner in our house this year. Getting ready to do it again.

There should be a magazine that rates individuals and companies on socialist scales.

The Sebrof 100 corporations that contributed the most money to governments through taxation each year.

The Sebrof 50 CEOs of big firms with the lowest salary spread from their employees.

Etc.

I had an experience almost ten years ago that is the reason I pointed my career at computational law, and have been working on §Blawx full or (very) part time ever since.

I learned to do legal knowledge representation in logic programming languages.

That dude in the Ford factory called him a pedophile protector in self defense when the President of the United States tried to kill him with a car.

The video is too horrific to watch, honestly. The worker is recovering in hospital and lucky to be alive.

Blawx is officially no longer "pre-revenue"! 🎉

Big milestone!

But more excited to hear about lawyers having fun using it.

Did I make legal knowledge engineering fun for lawyers? Not really.

It was always fun.

Blawx just makes it easier to learn! 😅

New release of §Blawx tonight, v2.0.2, that fixes a small bug with NLG in explanations.

Also, a blog post that illustrates how #RulesAsCode can be used in software development by exposing symbolic AI encodings to developers' agents over MCP. app.blawx.dev/content/usin...

Hey Pod Save America bros: no one in NATO would be stupid enough to go toe to toe with the US militarily in Greenland?

True, but irrelevant.

The Taliban couldn't and didn't go toe to toe in Afghanistan. But who runs Afghanistan today?

You can only torch US good will for a rental. You won't win.

Fuck me. Thank you MN.

Everyone else, this is how you fight authoritarianism. Whistles, car horns, cameras and voices. Targeted at the agents of the regime, not just the feel good marches. Protests AND active resistance, in mutual support of one another.

That's how you do it. Don't stop.

At a climbing competition the middlest is competing in, today. Two tops on three attempts on the first three routes in the prelim. 🧗Route setting is a little disappointing, TBH. Too easy. Scores will be very crowded near the maximum, and the only slab route had its beta broken. #Climbing

This week is the reason we have the story of the emperor with no clothes.

Do not let respect for authority and self-doubt eliminate your ability to tell true from false.

Good was murdered.

Anyone saying otherwise is trying to sell you clothing invisible to idiots.

If the person abusing you tells you to remain calm, don't.

Anyone calling that self defense should be punched in the face in self defense.

Has anyone ever received a legitimate chat request on this app? It seems exclusively to be a vector for BS.

Not a great start, 2026.

Not fucking great.

Good progress on my first #RulesAsCode #LegalTech experiment of 2026. I have a working MCP server, which will soon be available to all Blawx users with a paid subscription. Some of the the raw Blawx responses are too verbose for the context window, though, so that will be the next thing to fix. 1/

Managed to build an MCP server for the first time this holiday break. I have an experiment I want to run to see if coding agents can use (expert validated) Blawx encodings for development and QA tasks, specifically to generate accurate property tests. Genuinely pumped to find out.

Me, last night: "if the plan is to run a country, you leave behind enough people to defend the castle. They aren't going to run Venezuela. That's just some stupid shit the President said because he is demented."

Rubio, this morning: We aren't going to run Venezuela. We are going to pressure it.

Made a couple of bug fixes to Blawx, tonight. Thanks to some early users for the help finding them! #RulesAsCode #LegalTech app.blawx.dev/content/chan...

The attack on Venezuela is a security risk for Canada. Sour oil refineries in the US are dependent on Alberta crude, which limited what Trump.was.willing to do with regard to tariffs on Canadian oil. The other good source of sour oil for those refineries is Venezuela.

Uh huh.

That tracks.

So kidnapping heads of state is how the game is played, now.

That shouldn't ever backfire on the United States.

🙄
January 3, 2026 at 6:28 PM
Here's my prediction.

Ukraine did not attack Long Beards, and the US did not bomb a dock in Venezuela.

Those are lies told by known liars with no independence evidence.

At least Putin has the good sense to lie about being the victim of a war crime instead of the perpetrator.

Not a real issue.

On the other hand denying gender affirming care to minors affects thousands of people in ways that can never be undone.

Politicians introduced 96 bills targeting transgender student athletes in 2025.

That’s more than 9x the number of trans people playing college sports nationally.
