I just wanted to say, I’m probably more proud of this Ted talk than just about anything I’ve ever done so I’m gonna be absolutely useless for the next couple of weeks as I promote the shit out of this because I want you to watch it because it matters in the moment we are in youtu.be/dVG8W-0p6vg

Kubuntu doesn't prevent Ninja from compiling the entire Qt Framework, but kills Chromium when there's not enough memory.

P - priorities 😅

That's so cool 🤩
Framework actually did it. I upgraded a laptop's entire GPU in just three minutes.

New from the @qt-project.org in #Qt 6.10: let the compiler implement a QAbstractItemModel for you, for any (well, almost any) C++ range.

Very much looking forward to hear about the interesting ways you come up with to break, err, use this!
A Model for all Ranges
Qt 6.10 introduces a generic implementation of QAbstractItemModel that can many any C++ range available to Qt's UI frameworks.

I wanted to switch to an iMac for home use, but the 60Hz refresh rate is such a big no-no for me 😑

Wow! It handles 100MB text files! Pretty easily, btw. And it has a scrollbar! Love it 😍
I took Microsoft’s command-line text editor (which is #opensource - nice!) for a spin on Ubuntu. Details on what it can do, why it exists and how you can try it in the article.

I wish one day we stop caring laptops and will only use a smartphone for both work and personal activity. Maybe that's the future?

This is the job I'm really proud of. And thanks to my colleagues for help with this.

Kubuntu 25.04 Beta works surprisingly well on my working laptop. I love it even more than 24.10.

I missed a point when I became such a picky screenshot editor. I tried to use Krita but returned to GIMP because Krita is missing features 🤯

It's wonderful that KDE is now used in Steam Decks. The larger the community, the better. Googling various tips and issue resolutions has become much easier.

Migrated to KDE on a working laptop. Now I have a screenshot tool that actually works, and that allows me to edit the captured images. This makes me happy.

My idea was to package the 𝙿𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚘𝚖𝚜𝚝𝚢𝚕𝚎 QStyle as a Qt Creator plugin.

I was successful 🎉

TIL that entry level Intel N95 installed in cheap macmini-like nettops is almost as powerful as Core i5-8250U in my laptop from 2018. Yeah, that makes sense, but... Omg, time flies! I believed that oldie i5 will be significantly better than any Celeron-like cpu even in 10 years. But no.
