After a bit of work back and forth, we now have some new features in the VDB Volume shader. Namely density and anisotropy fading, and shadow density fading.

Had some time, decided to take the CG Forge Karma Vs Redshift test scene, and run it through 3delight.

3delight required zero setting of tessellation, thresholds, etc. There are only 3 user setting for sampling, time to first pixel was about 0.5-3 seconds, AMD 7950x

3delight for Houdini custom ocean spectrum texture baking and rendering setup. Bonus clunky Maya example using the exported textures! This is showing the 3dl custom texture format that stores high fidelity detail close to camera and less at depth/outside the frustum.

Some tips and workflow tricks when making complex collision shapes in Bullet RBD @sidefx.bsky.social . These methods help capture difficult convex/concave shapes and we use both convex and VDB spheres as collision options.

An interesting challenge recently to convert groom hair card geometry into curves, either as full hair count or to use as a base set of curves to build a groom from.
