One thing we've learned working in a food bank is that we all deserve dignity, regardless of our socio economic status. Our partnership with @acts435.bsky.social enables this to happen. Thank you to the kind person who donated to help out this woman.

We're all set up ready for our 3 day food drive at @tesco Elmers End & Lewisham! Look out for our volunteers and take a red leaflet with the shopping list of things we need. Your generosity will make an enormous difference through the cold winter months. Thank you.

Budget tomorrow! If the Chancellor lifts the two child limit will it help or harm Labour's standing with the electorate? @luketryl.bsky.social sets out why it is a smart move to recover public support, in a new guest post for @trusselluk.bsky.social

Let's hope her visit to the food bank will make a big difference to the people who really need it.
Great to join Chancellor at @trusselluk.bsky.social Leeds North & West food bank. Really appreciated time she spent with fb team & lived experience partners. Discussed scale of hunger & hardship, the causes & action needed. We've seen welcome steps so far - hoping for more in the Budget tomorrow!

DID YOU KNOW there are lots of places around Lewisham where you can pop in to get a voucher for a food parcel?

It's not always easy to get through on the phone lines so these drop ins are a great option.

Also many schools, housing associations and GP surgeries issue vouchers.

For those of you who are forward planners here is our Christmas shopping list. For those of you for whom Christmas is still a taboo word, sorry!

Any items would be much appreciated - we do love to treat our visitors at Christmas time.

We're coming to the end of the school holidays and for families relying on foodbanks this is a really difficult time of year. Plus foodbank supplies run low because many people are away. Please consider donating to your local foodbank today. Someone somewhere will be really grateful.🙏

So upsetting to come to work today to find that some our outdoor furniture has been stolen. If anyone sees grey rattan sofas/chairs & cream cushions on their travels please let us know (long shot!).

These were donated and used for volunteers & staff to have a much needed break.

Feeling sad.

Our partnership with The Hygiene Bank is so important to our work. It enables our visitors to get deodorant, laundry products and other personal care items which are essential for all of us and provides a level of dignity and care beyond what food can do.

Thank you!

Today the team at our Catford welcome centre said goodbye to their centre managers Michael and Rebecca. A sad day! We wish them all the best with their new venture in Balham. Their leadership, compassion and good humour will be missed hugely.

Tomorrow we attend Parliament to lobby MPs. 9.3M UK people face hunger & hardship. Universal Credit doesn't cover essentials. Planned cuts to disabled people’s social security risk plunging more people into poverty

Something has to change! We need to see an end to food banks and soon

Thanks again to our partnership with Acts435 our client was donated a fridge/freezer. It's wonderful to work with organisations that help people to acquire essential goods, just adding a bit of dignity into someone's life.
