With Utah banning 3 more books statewide, it's important to look at where these bans are coming from--with Davis School District taking the lead.
The more people that show their opposition to book bans, the more power we have to fight back.
Join us on February 13th for our annual read-in.

These 18 books are currently banned in Utah schools state-wide. If you look closely, you'll notice a trend of female and minority authors, and LGBTQIA+ stories. It's important for us to come together, read and discuss these books, and fight for our freedom to read.

Kudos to the team at Let Davis Read and everyone who took action for helping students keep access to good books!! Showing up and speaking up makes a difference!
Update with some good news! Davis School District is *keeping* TWISTED by Laurie Halse Anderson and THE HATE U GIVE by Angie Thomas. After reviewing these books in their entirety, the review committee found that these books have "serious educational value" and should stay on the shelves! Huzzah! 1/
Small win in Davis School District! The school board voted in favor of our appeals of TWISTED and THE HATE U GIVE. These books will now be reviewed in their entirety instead of removed because of out-of-context passages. Thanks to everyone who sent in comments to support these books! 1/
