I had a great time at the #IntercelticForum yesterday talking about AI and culture in the context less resourced Celtic languages and heritage. Thanks to Údarás Na Gaeltachta for sending me and my panel Rónán Mac Con Iomaire and Jean-Marie Ollivier for a rich conversation.

I am at DiGRA Malta talking about game preservation, and when I shared the attitude of the ESA that people only want access to preserved games in order to play them FOR FUN! (rather than serious research) someone facetiously replied “well if it’s fun why shouldn’t you pay” and it got me thinking 1/2

@mariaobrien.bsky.social and I hosted a workshop at #DIGRAMalta2025 on the Law & Policy of Games. After our #keynote we used the rest of the time to gather knowledge from our participants and think about pathways to fill gaps and increase impact.

Fabulous keynote on how to make the games industry sustainable in 2025. He calls for more precision in game development, and not being distracted by the lure of great money and more time. #FísGamesSummit

This is a very scary piece of legislation - it will make voting difficult if not impossible for a huge swath of Americans, including anyone who has ever changed their name for any reason.

The House of Representatives just passed a bill that would make it much harder for millions of people to register to vote.

Tell your Senator to reject this harmful legislation.
Stop the SAVE Act
The SAVE Act would keep millions of people from being able to vote – and would shut countless eligible voters out of our democracy. Urge Congress to vote no now.

Irish Times headline for a profile of incredible activist musician/poet/artist Joan Baez not about Joan Baez, but about a man with whom she was in a relationship decades ago. Do better.
